I won't pretend to be a pro at bowling, but I wanted to pick it up as a hobby so I thought of purchasing my own pair of kicks. I've had the shoes for about 5 months now and they've saved me about $40 dollars in shoe rental fees, more than recouping the cost of the shoes in the first place. Aside from saving me a bunch of money, I feel like a boss every time I pull these shoes out. While my friends don the nasty and stinky Ronald McDonald alley shoes, I put on these bad boys. They never fail to impress, and people are constantly asking me where I got them and how much they cost. Jaws are always dropped when I say they were only $25 bucks!SUMMARY:If you add up all the times you bowl in your life, even casually, you would benefit from a pair of bowling shoes. Here is why.1. You will save money. Lanes generally charge $1.50 all the way up to $4 per shoe rental at really nice lanes, it adds up.2. It's more sanitary. What if the person who wore the alley shoes before you had athlete's foot? Think about it.3. They look cool! Sure, they look a bit boxier than regular shoes, but they have a cool black sheen to them.4. I noticed no performance change from alley shoes to my own so you don't have to worry about it messing up your game!The only downside I can think of is that people will probably expect you to be an awesome bowler if you have your own shoes, so if you suck, it might be awkward. Who cares though, just have fun with the game!

Not really "wide".

First, these are not wide shoes.. Secondly, if you aren't used to having a gigantic lip hugging the back of your ankle then these shoes are going to be extremely annoying to wear.
